ABOUT US
We are a Nairobi-based digital arts and social impact studio dedicated to creating African content that celebrates our stories, cultures, and natural heritage, while advancing development, humanitarian response, and social justice. Through illustration, animation and comics/graphic novels, we craft immersive, educational experiences that blend entertainment with meaningful storytelling for audiences of all ages.
At the heart of our work is the belief that beautifully illustrated, visually rich storytelling is essential to making complex issues accessible, engaging, and memorable.

Chief Nyamweya
Co-Founder & Creative DirectorChief Nyamweya is an author, visual artist, and director whose work blends storytelling, illustration, and animation to explore African culture and nature. He is the co-founder of Freehand Studios and Pungulu Pa Productions, and Chair of the Animation Association of Kenya.
Co-Founder & Creative ProducerSarah Mallia
Sarah Mallia is a creative and impact producer working at the intersection of storytelling, culture, and social impact. She is the co-founder of Freehand Studios and Pungulu Pa Productions, and produces animation, comics, visual reports, and with partners across Africa.
